These days, when you think of a PG-13 comedy, you think of maybe a romantic comedy such as Life As We Know It, or perhaps a teen comedy like 17 Again. Then, when you think of an R comedy, you think of maybe a comedy such as The Hangover, or a dark comedy like Inglorious Basterds.
There is something about an R rating that just tags a movie as funny. I don't know if it's the cursing, or the general access to a wider horizon of comedy. These days, we have such movies like The Hangover, Paul, I Love You Man, Funny People, and the list goes on.
On the other side, the PG-13 comedies usually have ratings that don't necessarily match up. Well, with the exception of The Switch. I don't understand why that movie was so hated. I thought that it was bleeding with humor and originality both.
Until next time. . .
